5 Reasons to Start a Small Group
1. You will understand the Bible better in a small group.
In a small group setting, you can ask questions, take part in a discussion of the God’s Word, and share insights and current applications of the word you are trying to understand. The Bible can be applied to your own personal situations and that happens best in small groups.
2. You will feel like part of God´s family.
Most people who are in a group say the best benefit is the relationships and friendships that are built. Knowing they can telephone each other to share an urgent prayer request or an exciting answer made their relationship with God grow and have more personal meaning. You´ll discover that we are all on the same journey that your problems are not unique . It helps to know that others who have faced the same difficulties, have lived through them and learned spiritual principles in the process.
3. Prayer becomes even more meaningful.
We aren’t always comfortable praying in front of large groups but in a small group setting and with people you are developing relationships with, a corporate prayer becomes and intimate conversation with God without the pressure of being judged.
4. You will be able to handle stress and pressure better.
Small groups offer support in times of crisis, change, and stress. They give stability and security knowing there are people who really care for you and are committed to seeing you through a tough time.
5. Sharing Christ with friends, relatives, and at work will become a natural extension of who you are.
You may be the only Bible that some People ever read. Maybe some of your friends who don´t know the Lord would not go to a church. They have had a bad experience and just the thought makes them defensive. Those same people may be open to an invitation to a casual Bible discussion in a relaxed setting. They can ask questions and express fears or doubts without feeling there could be an attack.
