“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”Psalms 34:8 Years ago I did an object lesson with a group of kids at Swan Lake MHP. I had a tray of bite-size brownies and I allowed the kids to sample them, to “taste” them. My point then, and now, is to say that if you come to Jesus, commit your life to Him, just get a taste of a relationship with Him… you will find true satisfaction. Even more delicious than a brownie!
I want to extend the opportunity to you to “taste” Community Church Ministry. Give it a try. We minister on most Mondays and Thursdays, so you won’t have to miss church. So, what do you have to lose? You might find CCM satisfying and come back for seconds…
July is a busy month for us, as we are doing several “back – to – school” events in the communities. We give away basic school supplies and serve a delicious meal.
Are you getting Rest? “And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.”Mark 6:31 Although the time they spent resting was brief, the passage shows that Jesus cares when we are tired from life’s busy pace. In my “day job” as a hospice chaplain, I have heard and quoted this saying many times. “You’ve got to take care of yourself to take care of others.” That’s the simple message this month. Slow down, rest, and let God renew your strength. Don’t forget to put God first, spend time praying, and more importantly, listening to Him. As I write this, I am recovering from left hip replacement surgery I had on June 3rd. The CCM volunteers are soldering on this month without me.
Here’s the lineup. Please pray, and come help! (6:30 each night.)
“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”Psalms 107:1 Our hearts are full of thankfulness at Community Church Ministry! First of all, we are grateful to God that He enabled us to do 10 Easter egg hunts/ cookouts. The last 2 were in Rockmart, where we had never gone before. There were raindrops here and there, but God held the hard rains off for another time. Second of all, we are grateful to all who came and helped, working unselfishly, giving up their time. If I start mentioning names, I might leave someone out. If you are reading this and you came to help. Thank you. May God reward you 100 fold! Last but not least, thanks to all who gave, and to all who prayed. God will bless your giving. Prayer is the backbone of any successful ministry. Accept our sincere thanks.
Going forward… We are doing community dinners in 5 communities this month, Lord willing. 6:30 starting time.Thursdays:
2nd Darlington MHP
9th Dutch Gardens MHP
16th Pine Village MHP
Mondays:
13th Callier Forrest Apts.
