January Community Church Ministry Newsletter

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs for, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43: 19

Our God never changes. He makes all things new. He is always working, creating and doing miracles. Community Church Ministry is so thankful to our Lord for an amazing 2017, but we are not content to rest on the blessings of last year. We are looking to God to do new and exciting things in 2018.

For January and February, we will continue our regular fellowship at Willow Way Apartments, Callier Forrest Apartments, and Dutch Gardens MHP.

And yes, we are already making plans for Easter. Since Easter falls early on April 1 this year, we are already working to hold 10 – yes, 10 – Easter egg hunts in March.

As we get started in this new year and are praying for God to provide new opportunities to minister and bless our community, please remember we earnestly need your prayers, provision, and presence. Consider being a part of God’s creative work in 2018. We need each of you, as members of the body and Christ, to help us minister those who need the touch of God in their lives.

Blessings,
Pastor George

Community Church Ministry – December Newsletter

Tis the season of good news for all men.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

Merry Christmas from Community Church Ministry!

This year has seemingly sped by us. But as the year draws to a close, we stop and take time to reflect on an amazing 2017 and thank our Lord for all of His continued blessings.

·         God allowed us to do Easter egg hunts at nine locations and minister to more people than we did at those events last year.

·         We continued our Thursday night “circuit riding” – first Thursday of the month at Darlington MHP; the second and fourth Thursdays at Dutch Gardens MHP and the third Thursday at Pine Village MHP.

·         We added Callier Forest Apartments to our Monday night ministry and continued to meet at Willow Way Apartments.

·         In July we were able to bless children and parents during Back to School events in seven communities.

·         In September we co-hosted a giant Fall Festival at Banty Jones Park with Hollywood Baptist Church. And we had a great turnout!

·         In November we were able to hold Thanksgiving dinners in five communities.

·         And here we are, in December, and we are in the process of holding Christmas parties in 10 communities!

As we look forward to 2018, we are thankful for your prayers and support. Please consider partnering with us so we can extend God’s blessings to even more people in the coming year!

Love in Christ,

Pastor George Nix

November Community Church Ministry Newsletter

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”1 Thessalonians 5:18

Everything? Sometimes we don’t want to give thanks. Especially when life gets hard… We want to gripe and complain.
Who is the author of this verse? The apostle Paul. Once he became a Christian, his life got tough. Imprisoned, beaten, mistreated for the cause of Christ. Most likely he penned this from the prison, which was much like a dungeon.
So, if Paul can be thankful “in” all things, why can’t we? When we are continually thankful, and pray, we feel the peace of God which passes all understanding.

In this month of Thanksgiving, Community Church Ministry is busy doing Thanksgiving dinners in 5 different neighborhoods.
And, we are making preparations to do 10 Christmas parties! We are in need of individually wrapped candies and snack cakes. Also, volunteers to help with these events. The first one will be a “triple header” on December 2nd. We don’t expect you to be at all of them. Any time you can help is appreciated! The schedule is on our website and on our Facebook page.

Community Church Ministry is thankful for you, and your continued support with prayer, presence and provision for us. God bless you!
