The Christmas rush is in high gear… I think we all feel pressured to get things done before December 25… Sometimes our busyness can keep us from focusing on Jesus, the “reason for the season.”
Community Church Ministry is very busy this month. 9 Christmas events! It’s a big challenge, but we know that God will give us the strength to proclaim the Good News of Christ’s birth at every event.
“How can I help?”
Most importantly, PRAY. Please pray for good weather, for enough volunteers, and for the Word to impact lives.
Second, come volunteer with us for one event. I know you are really busy, but you won’t regret it!
Our schedule:
Saturday December 7: 2pm Pine Village MHP, 4pm Darlington MHP
Monday December 9: 6:30 pm Callier Forrest Apartments
Thursday December 12: 6:30 pm Ashland Park Apartments
Saturday December 14: 2pm Main High Apartments, 4pm Graham Homes
Monday December 16: 6:30 pm Willow Way Apartments
Tuesday December 17: 6:30 pm Willingham Village
Thursday December 19: 6:30 pm Dutch Gardens MHP
Merry Christmas from everyone at Community Church Ministry!
Life seems to be busier than ever, doesn’t it? Seems like I forget things every day. (Even if it’s on my to-do list!)
Luke 17 tells the story of Jesus healing 10 lepers. Only one remembered to come back and thank Him! The others were in a hurry to see the priest, so he could pronounce them clean. They probably couldn’t wait to see their families and get back to a “normal life.”
Let’s make it a goal, no matter how busy we are, to give thanks to God!
Community Church Ministry is thankful for God’s blessings. We are thankful for our volunteers. They all have busy lives, but they take time to serve.
Consider coming to help us once a month. You won’t regret it!
This November, we are doing Thanksgiving dinners in several communities. (6:30 pm each night.)
(Who We Really Are; CommunityChurch Ministry is a non-profit organization that goes to neighborhoods in Floyd County… Mobile home parks and apartments… Why? Not everyone is going to church…Many people work on Sundays… Some have fallen out of the habit, or don’t have transportation. As a result, many are not hearing the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ…Including children… Our next-generation...We talk to children about making the right decisions. Avoiding peer pressure and letting them know they are special. It means meeting some physical needs too…We serve food at every event… At back to school time, we give away basic school supplies. Christmas means warm hoodies for the kids and other gifts. Easter… Lots of candy!
We try to bring neighborhoods together... In a day when we don’t know our neighbors, our aim is to get folks out of the house and enjoying each other.
**** The concept is simple… We go to where people live… Feed them, love them, and share God’s love. These folks are precious!
*** We are a small non-profit ministry, with a small group of volunteers. We usually do most activities on Mondays, Thursdays, and some Saturdays. We are always looking for new volunteers! Come hang out with us!
