“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Colossians 3:23-24
The late Harvey Palmer was a friend of mine. I met him years ago when I worked at Chick-fil-A. He would come in for breakfast with a group of Methodist ministers. One day I visited his office. He had s plaque that said: “HAVING FUN GETTING IT DONE.” We all have a lot to do in our jobs, but do we truly enjoy our vocation? Sometimes we get bogged down in the details and the mundane tasks. But what if we could look beyond the drudgery and find joy as we work? I can truly say I enjoy working with our volunteers at Community Church Ministry. We get along splendidly. I think it’s because we are there for the same reasons: to serve others and show them the love of God. We would love to have you join us sometime. Hopefully, like us, you will be “Having fun getting it done.” As always, we stand ready to help you reach your neighborhood!
Please pray with us that the seeds planted will spring up to eternal life. God bless you!

Our desire is to expand into other communities. Please pray about networking with us to reach your neighborhood.
Also, we are working on acquiring hoodies for our December outreach.
A couple of years ago, we did an Easter egg hunt at Park Homes Apartments in Rome.
To tell the story of Christ, I use a set of 12 plastic eggs. Inside each one is a little item which illustrates the story of Jesus in His last week on earth. (Actually, the twelfth one is empty, symbolizing the resurrection!)
When I came to the part about Jesus’ suffering, particularly the whip and crown of thorns, one or two of the children looked astonished and asked: “Why did Jesus have to suffer?”
Good question! I felt led to explain it this way…
“Suppose you had done something wrong, and you were about to get a spanking. Just then, someone stepped up and volunteered to take your place, and they took the punishment for you.”
Jesus took our place… He suffered and died for our sins.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5
An old hymn proclaims:
“Man of Sorrows,” what a name
For the Son of God who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim!
Hallelujah! What a Savior!”
Community Church Ministry is in the process of doing 13 Easter egg hunts this month, by God’s grace and power. We are thankful that several churches are supplying volunteers! There’s always room for more!
