“Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭

Have you ever seen the movie “Groundhog Day”? Bill Murray gets stuck in an endless loop, repeating the same day over and over again.

That will probably never happen to us, but we do feel like we are experiencing “Deja Vu all over again” as Yogi Berra famously said, when we navigate through the year.

The calendar is to blame, partially, because the special occasions we plan for mostly stay the same. We can’t do much about that.

But, we can be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in our lives and ministries. He may be leading you to do something different…

Community Church Ministry is always looking for something new….

New neighborhoods to share the love of God.

You might be thinking of your neighborhood, or one nearby. Maybe one of your church members or groups would be willing to host a block party or similar event. There are many different possibilities… Just let me know!

Upcoming events/ projects:

  • Easter egg hunts in 13 different neighborhoods
  • Purchasing hoodies for December now, while prices are lower.
  • Back to school events in July.

(Please pray and help if you can!)

Community Church Ministry February schedule: (6:30 each night)

Thursday February 9, Dutch Gardens MHP

Monday February 13, Callier Forest Apts

Monday February 20, Swan Lake MHP.

Please pray with us!

God bless you!

In the Beginning God

In the Beginning God

In the Beginning God

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ ‭

When we read Genesis 1:1, our minds seem to only pick up on 2 words, “beginning” and “created.”

We think about the when, the beginning of time, and many, many years ago. Then our minds immediately go to “what” was created, without necessarily thinking of “Who” created all things.

I was guilty of this recently when I was studying this passage for an upcoming message. I even printed out visual aids to illustrate the 7 days of creation.

But… God slowed me down, and centered my attention on Genesis 1:1, with a laser focus on Him.

What do we know about God?

Why is He worthy of our worship?

Let’s look at some of God’s attributes.

  1. God is eternal. He has always existed! You and I have a starting point and an expiration date. Not God! “Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” Psalm 90:2
  2. God is all-powerful:  “Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17
  3. God is all-knowing:  “Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? Romans 11:33-34
  4. God is all-seeing: “And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are open and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:13
  5. God is present everywhere: “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:24
  6. God hears everything: “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12
  7. God is love: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭

Wow! In the words of an old praise song, “What a mighty God we serve.”

He is indeed worthy of our worship and praise! Let’s fix our eyes on the God who created all things.

“Let your eyes look directly ahead And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭25‬-‭27‬ ‭

Have you ever tried to walk or run while you were looking to the side or behind you? Hint: It doesn’t end well! You very likely end up stumbling, falling, or colliding with someone or something.

The same thing can happen as we navigate into the beginning of a new year. It’s hard to move forward when your mind is constantly on the past.

Let’s take Solomon’s advice and keep our eyes looking forward, watching the path of our feet.

I hope and pray that the Lord will make your way prosperous in the new year!

Community Church Ministry is very thankful for God’s blessings in 2022, but we are prayerfully moving forward in 2023.

We are doing 3 neighborhood dinners in January.(6:30 start times each night.)

Monday, January 9, Callier Forest Apts.

Thursday, January 12, Dutch Gardens MHP.

Monday, January 16, Swan Lake MHP.

Please pray for these events, for volunteers, and for new areas to reach.

We are also looking into replenishing our inventory of hoodies, as we gave away over 300 in December. Generally, they are marked down in the first few months of the new year. Please pray for provision for this as well.

Thanks for your support of our ministry. God bless you!–

Blessings!
